Thao Le Khac was born in Saigon, Viet Nam. Her family moved to America when she was nine years old. She spent her childhood in Saigon, Ohio, and Southern California. Today Thao and her husband live in the enchanted redwoods of Humboldt County, California. She received her BA in studio art in 1994 and her art teaching credential in 1999 at Humboldt University.

For 21 years Thao has worked with elementary school students teaching art throughout Humboldt County public schools.  "Helping young artists find their strength and voice through the visual arts is my joyous purpose!"

Her artworks reflect a traveler’s spiritual journey through time and cultures. Her

early works were glimpses of her Vietnamese ancestors’ way of life and their healing paths. Her next body of work concentrated on the culture of Northern California, where she lives. Melding the images of a rural Vietnamese way of life with those of her Californian organic farming community, she painted the voices of these rural peoples with fresh, vibrant colors of joy.

She expresses her  freedom with watercolors through deliberate brushstrokes and spontaneous compositions of exquisite florals.  Thao's current work speaks of her spiritual healing process through her abstract visions.
